The SURREY HILLS ADVENTURE COMPANY (SHAC)
At Buckland Park Lake we are blessed with a 50-acre pristine lake, one of the largest bodies of water in Surrey. The Surrey Hills Adventure Company run all activities in and on the water, including open water swimming, stand up paddle boarding and e-foil.
To avoid disappointment please pre-book your session via The SHAC’s website. We cannot allow access to the water for day visitors, who have not pre-booked.
OPEN WATER SWIMMING
Our lagoon is one of the few year-round open water swimming sites in the area.
“Enjoy the challenge of an open water swim. Commune with nature whilst achieving those personal goals, shedding those pounds and meeting like-minded people. Cold water can increase energy levels, nerve endings stand up and your heart starts racing – it is the best possible way to get a natural high.” Skip of The SHAC.
We regularly carry out water quality tests.
STAND-UP PADDLE BOARDING (SUP)
From 1:1 tuition and small group intro sessions to freeride sessions, corporate away days and celebrations. (Children aged 8-16 should be accompanied by an adult).
The SHAC have the kit to use and wetsuits available to hire from their beach shack. Showers, changing rooms and lockers are available in our Outdoor Activity Centre.

E-FOIL
The SHAC are one of the first companies in the UK to be able to offer the latest watersports craze, Efoil. Using their extensive experience and knowledge of water sports, EFoil coaching and experiences are now available.
As hard and as scary as it might look, with the SHACs introduction to efoiling course, it is more achievable than you might think– and huge fun at same time. A perfect gift to yourself or the adventurer in your life to try something new and experience flying above the water.
WELLNESS
Find your calm with The SHAC beside our tranquil lagoon. where they host small, welcoming sessions – from women-only Moon Circles and breezy beach breathwork to core-boosting SUP Yoga & Pilates and deeply relaxing Floating Sound Baths – all designed to help you slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with yourself in nature.
THE OUTDOOR ACTIVITY CENTRE
For anyone taking part in water activities we have shower and changing room facilities on the meadow. There are also toilets, including disabled access/baby change facilities.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
We understand the temptation to take a dip in our lagoon, but it’s important we tell you it gets deep very quickly so it is really only suitable for experienced open water swimmers. The only way to currently access our lagoon is through organised activities and clubs run by The SHAC. Please contact them to find out how to get involved in SUP and Open Water Swimming.
